I have enjoyed
my experiences reading the New York Times. I really like keeping up with
current events and knowing what’s going on in the world, so I am glad that this
class provides an opportunity to discuss those events. I would sometimes read
the New York Times before this class, but reading it more often has been a
pleasant change. I like how there are a wide variety of stories in it, in
different subject areas, and I also like finding random stories that I would
not hear about had I not gone looking for them. The stories that I notice most
however, are the political stories. I really enjoy politics and those are usually
the stories that are the biggest headlines, so I usually spend most of my time
looking at those. I think I spend more time looking at what is going on in the
U.S., but I also enjoy reading about things happening around the globe and I
think it is really important to stay up-to-date on global issues. I am usually
one to bring up and talk about current events, and reading the New York Times
has helped me maintain that. I do not think it has had that drastic of an
impact on my daily life because I usually do keep up with the news, regardless
of if I am reading the New York Times or not. While it has not had too much of
an impact on my daily life, I still think that I will use the New York Times as
a resource for news even after this class is over.
